ilovehomers, the back-to-back Cups ease the pain of a single regular season loss as well as that of a young player finally nearing Crosby’s echelon.

This.

Oh hey everyone, some random guy thinks McDavid is better than Crosby!
I guess the discussion is over then.

Yeah, there’s no doubt that Crosby has the resume.
I’m taking McDavid as the best in the world right now. Just an opinion. But it’s definitely not just me, as shown above lol.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And yes, I remember what cups feel like. I still like to relish in the pain of the Penguins, who, of all things, cried about the refs last night. One of the most horribly ironic things in hockey today.

I can see Mario Lemiuex being a key figure in pushing the league to crackdown on the stickwork, especially on star players.
You have McDavid and Mathews, along with a dozen other almost-superstar young players in the league now. The NHL has two choices: let the marginal players whack and hack the superstars into early retirement; or, call the stick work, and watch these young kids thrive and shine.

Well, Mario does have a history of talking out of both sides of his mouth.
Posted by ilovehomers on 10/05/17 at 11:34 AM ET

Perhaps, but the garbage he had to play through was a disgrace to the league.

True, while I am not old enough to remember the age of the Broad Street Bullies, my father in law despises them. Obviously before Mario’s time, but the game is ever evolving.

I was just finding hockey when the BSB were around. In fact, my second- favorite player was Bobby Clarke, right behind Bobby Orr.

It may be that we know the Stanley Cup winners already. I figure it may be a Toronto-Edmonton final, Toronto is now run by ex Red Wings who knew how to win. Toronto finally hitched on to the Wing past like Chicago, Tampa, now Toronto, much like Teams of the 70’s and 80’s hitched on to the Montreal wagon.

It’s honestly so delicious to see Penguins fans cry about this and their loss last night.
True. Pittsburgh at least got a point thanks to the famous Pittsburgh 5 on 3.
