The Bruins were outshot 38-21 by the Canadiens in a game where Montreal controlled the pace, flow and possession of the puck seemingly at will. But this is today’s reality: Boston has faced two playoff teams from last season in its first two games of the new year and any carefree training camp optimism has been stripped away by the harsh reality the Bruins just aren’t good enough to compete with the big boys right now.
