Regarding the Malkin stick swing last night...

Damien Cox tweets,

Amazing how so many see the stick swing as incredibly dangerous and worth multiple games, but the gutless punch to the back of the head as benign and harmless and really not worth talking about.

Give Malkin 5 and Raffl 2. But Sheriff George would never want to make punches punishable. Otherwise it would undermine how he made his living, which wasn’t about being a skilled hockey player.

I know sticks are considered a weapon; maybe Raffl could live every 10 yr olds dream by registering his hands as a deadly weapon?

Let me preface this by saying the punch was wrong, there’s absolutely no denying that.

But if the punch was “gutless,” what does that make the stick swing—which not only endangered its target, but also anyone else who happened to skate within its range?
