It's no secret, Ted Saskin's secret ballot vote continues to attract attention. Sportsnet has learned as many as 28 players have filed a complaint with the US National Labour Relations Board in an effort to stop the NHLPA's secret ballot vote. Saskin's original appointment was openly criticized by members of the players' union after it was learned the deal was ratified over the phone. The PA bylaws state the appointment must adhere to the secret ballot process in order to be considered legitimate. Players and hockey officials have made it known the majority are in agreement that Saskin is the man for the job, but until procedure is followed and ratified, the appointment will remain a contentious one.
