Is this not very similar to Peyton Manning’s injury? If so, can’t we stop the smokescreen that he’s coming back any time soon? He may not play NEXT year, if that’s the case…

First off, I hate McCown’s smug sense of self-importance dripping out of my screen in the clip above. He really loves the sound of his own voice.
Finally, and most importantly, this is horrible news for Sidney. A misdiagnosis at this level of screening and care is really a shameful reflection upon the care and diligence of those treating him. All personal opinion aside about him as a player, I hope he has a chance to get well as soon as possible. It is unfortunate it takes a profile player like Sidney to raise issues and awareness about head and spinal injuries.
How about we ban hard plastic shoulder and elbow pads already? That would be one helluva effective place to start PREVENTING further severe injuries.
