Canadians — both men and women — go on fewer dates during hockey playoffs, according to a survey released Wednesday by online dating site Match.com.
The survey found women are almost as likely as men to choose a night cheering for the big, brawny men on the ice over a cozy candlelight dinner for two — at least between April and June.
Ten per cent of single women say they date less during hockey season, compared to 14 per cent of Canadian men.
But, depending on the province, some unattached Canadians chose to combine their love of the national game with the possibility of a new relationship.
