Modano Returns To Dallas

from Dave Waddell of the Windsor Star,

Wings coach Mike Babcock said he intends to start Modano’s line, which includes Dan Cleary and Jiri Hudler, in Dallas tonight.

“He didn’t finish the way he wanted,” Babcock said.

“That’s life. They’ve moved on and so has he. I hope he plays great and gets three.

“His line will start. They’ll get a chance to be out there during the national anthem. They’ll get a chance to introduce him.

“That stuff is important.”

Yes it is Uncle Mike, and the fact you pay attention to “that stuff” lends more credence to the best organization in hockey.

Smart, very smart.

this reminds me of when he started the grind line for DMac’s first game at the Joe in his comeback. those three rarely, if ever, saw the ice again together besides that first shift of that first game, but Babs knew that line needed to be announced one last time. and the crowd went friggin wild. that stuff really IS important. Modano is going to get the final standing O he deserves in Dallas. hell, it’ll probably be the loudest roar that building hears all year.

and seriously, i think i love mike babcock… i mean, like more than a coach. red face
