Minor Leaguer Suffers Severe Eye Trauma

from WMTW,
A member of the Portland Pirates hockey team remains in the hospital with severe eye trauma after he was hit by a puck in a game Friday night. Defenseman Jordan Smith received emergency eye surgery Friday night after the injury, which occurred during a game against the Manchester Monarchs.
It is my understanding the puck was deflected off of a stick and hit him in the eye. No idea if he had a visor or if the league requires one.
