from Dane Mizutani of the Pioneer Press,
So does Leipold think the pieces are in place for a legitimate Stanley Cup run?
“Who knows?” said Leipold. “They could be. I’ve seen things from this team that I’ve never seen from this team before. …. We have to continue to build on that. This could be the year.”...
Leipold, who bought the team in January 2008, is as happy as he’s ever been, and rightfully so as his team has as good a chance as any to hoist the Stanley Cup.
“It’s been crazy fun,” Leipold said. “Things have gone so well. … It’s been a fun ride so far.”
And should the Wild come up short this season, Leipold is confident in the foundation that’s in place for prolonged success.
“I feel like the window is open,” he said. “I feel like it’s open for a number of years going forward. I like the direction our team is going. We are going to be in this for a long time.”
