Michael Cammalleri missed the last six Devils' games because his 5-year-old daughter was hospitalized with pneumonia and eventually required surgery, the veteran left wing said this morning. Cammalleri returned to the team today to participate in the morning skate and will be in the lineup tonight when the Devils face the Maple Leafs at Prudential Center.
Cammalleri, 34, said his daughter, Chloe, is now back home and the family expects a "full recovery."
"She had a case of pneumonia that got pretty severe," Cammalleri said. "She had to get admitted to the hospital so I originally few out of Buffalo (on Nov. 11). At that point, her situation worsened over a couple of days. She had to have surgery. We're very fortunate it was a successful surgery. We expect a full recovery so we feel very fortunate for that. She's just recently come home, released from the hospital and it's good to have her home.
"It's your worst nightmare but we're fortunate she's going to make a full recovery," Cammalleri added."
