Mattias Norstrom On Marc Crawford/Sean Avery

from Lisa Dillman of The Athletic,

Former Kings captain Norstrom talks Marc Crawford’s behavior and Sean Avery pushing people’s buttons

Norstrom, who played in 903 NHL games, appeared in 62 games in 2006-07 under Crawford. In February of that season, he was traded to the Dallas Stars in a multi-player deal which also involved draft picks.

“I never had that kind of confrontation,” said Norstrom, who was the Kings’ captain. “But he was strong-willed. I also just read that Sean Avery was one of the players that came out with information about Crow. In all fairness, that’s how Sean approached people around him and confronted people, in your face. I won’t say physical. But with in-your-face challenging. Sean did that with everyone. Players, coaches, opponents, teammates. That was his way. He wouldn’t take anything from anyone. He confronted them. In your face.

“So was Crawford. He confronted people in that sense.”

That’s why I have tuned out anything SA says - he’s only giving his side and not any details about what led to it.  He’s a coward the way he publicly trash talks guys like that.

What a joke he is. comes out with a revelation, hoping for a little camera time on TV but instead gets well-deserved scoffs and then he turns around and says it was deserved. If it was deserved then why the f*ck did you call him out? God, Avery just never stops being a piece of crap.

And yet he’s accusing a guy that once, in the middle of a game, tried to climb over into the opposing team’s bench to fight the opposing coach, all while he screamed like a loon, and television caught every bit of it.

I hate, HATE Sean Avery, but the fact is he or anyone could accuse Crawford of about anything and yeah, I’d absolutely believe them.  Because Crawford’s own body of work quite frankly backs up the notion that he might do just about anything crazy.
