RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has traded center Matt Cullen to the Ottawa Senators. In exchange for Cullen, the Hurricanes will receive defenseman Alexandre Picard and Ottawa’s second-round pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
“Alexandre is a good, young defenseman who should become a regular part of the Hurricanes’ blue line,” said Rutherford. “We wish Matt all the best, and thank him for his many years here in Carolina.”
