Markov Tweaks Knee

Defenseman Danny Markov, in his first preseason game with the Wings, sustained what the club called a slightly sprained left medial collateral ligament late in the first period of Friday's 5-4 win over Tampa Bay. Markov will have an MRI today, but the team said it doesn't appear to be a serious injury. The rugged defenseman has been injury-prone during his career.
Sprains are better than tears, and Schneider (rotator cuff) and Howard (groin) are nursing injuries already. Markov and Hasek have something in common--every little tweak will be blamed on their propensity for sustaining injuries. continued
