Mara Won’t Let Getzlaf Fight

from Eric Stephens of Ducks Blog,

“I’m not going to let him fight,” Mara said. “He might be mad at me. I don’t know who’s mad at me. We need him on the ice. We don’t need him out.”

Mara’s decision might have also been influenced by Andy Sutton breaking his right thumb Friday when he was punching Detroit defenseman Ruslan Salei.

“[What if] Getzy goes out there and pummels him and breaks his hand and is out for eight weeks,” Mara said. “That’s not what we need. We need him on the ice. He’s not going to fight.”

So Mara basically admits as logic follows there, that his teammate Perry is a douchebag for targeting the Lady Byng winner, Datsyuk?

Also, doubt Getzlaf would be doing much pummeling on anyone. He’d more likely have most of his injuries from a fight around the face.

No one in the league is tough enough to touch a single hair on Ryan Gleltlzlaf’s head in a fight. Literally. It’s a physical impossibility.

*#$%@& Getzlaf, he looks like Mr. Burns.  Too bad for Getzlaf, Mr. Burns is more admirable.
