Maltby Once Again A Red Wing

from Ansar Khan of Mlive,

Maltby said he has no qualms about signing a two-way deal because it enables him to remain with the organization he joined in 1996. And if he has to start the season with the Grand Rapids Griffins—which is likely, unless the Red Wings have an injury or two—he’s fine with that.

“That’s something I’ll deal with if that comes to surface,’’ Maltby said. “Right now it’s about Traverse City (training camp) and exhibition games.

“I’d be one of the older guys down there, but it’s not like I’d be first player to ever do it.’‘

I very strongly hate this fellow but I must respect what he’s doing this season.

He’ll be a great mentor for the kids in GR.

Way to go, Cap’n Kirk.

I’ll be sure to go to more griffins games - like when McCarty was staging his comeback.

+1 on kudos for taking one for the team.
