from Damien Cox of the Toronto Star,
He has five points in the final, three on the power play, and is proving to be much more of a handful for the Red Wings in this final than last year’s.
“I feel great now,” Malkin said. “Last year I was a little bit sick. I’m trying to play a little bit hard and physical more.
“I know how to play Detroit and I try to play a little harder.”
With Detroit deploying most of its primary resources to stop Sidney Crosby, Malkin has been able to find some openings.
“I don’t think his body was physically ready for it last year,” teammate Brooks Orpik said. “I think he’s done a really good job of committing himself off the ice, which is paying big dividends for him now.”
