Sunday, in a barren warehouse in this east Detroit suburb, people gathered to pick up the remains from his life at bargain-basement prices The event brought a gathering of approximately 300 curiosity-seekers and Red Wings fans to the auction, conducted by C.B. Kaye and Associates. "This is about triple of what we'd normally draw for an auction of this nature," co-owner Carrie Kaye said. "Usually, we'd get between 50-100 people."
Veteran auction-goer Mike Green of Fraser shook his head in disbelief as he watched one item after another go for outrageously high prices compared to a typical auction. "People are crazy," Green said. "There's a few things in there that might have been a good buy, but they're overpaying a lot. I think they just want something of Darren's."continued
