Luongo Sees Positives

from the South Florida Sun-Sentinel,
Jokinen's signing, coupled with the Panthers' only trade being minor-league forward Petr Taticek to the Penguins for NHL defenseman Ric Jackman, may lead to them also keeping goalie Roberto Luongo long term. "It's a positive for the organization that I'm going to take into consideration," Luongo said. "Not only the fact they were able to get Olli signed, but there was not a fire sale this year. Those are two huge factors. "[Thursday] showed a lot what are the intentions of the team. The only thing left to be seen is whom we sign in free agency this summer. If everything goes well, I'm sure I'll be signing long term in the future also."
