If Roberto Luongo is considering his options, GM Mike Gillis made them pretty clear Friday.
During his post-free agency press conference, Gillis was asked about Luongo’s options after the team traded away Cory Schneider.
“Play or not play,” Gillis said bluntly.
Gillis is planning a trip to Florida in the next two weeks where he plans to meet with Luongo and explain what’s happened since the goalie asked for a trade 14 months ago.
“I will talk about the whole environment,” Gillis said. “There has been so much stuff which has been misrepresented in what’s gone on here.
“I want to make sure he’s absolutely clear about us and our motivation and what was going on.
“It was a situation that got really complicated because of the lockout. I think people don’t understand the level of complexity that occurred because of the changes in the CBA with respect to these contracts.”
