Lucic, Weise and sweet handshake line nothings

When hockey moves at the speed of Twitter, funny things happen--and not "funny ha." After the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Boston Bruins, I watched the handshake line on the CBC, and saw it jerk and pause (this video comes from Pro Hockey Talk's Ryan Dadoun):

Almost immediately, there were questions, because the line paused twice--when Milan Lucic passed Dale Weise and Alexei Emelin--and then, with the Bruins and Habs' media being the Bruins' and Habs' media...

Eventually, it was revealed that Lucic simply said, and I quote, "I'm going to fucking kill you next year," which is not exactly the secret as to where one can file a "pain and suffering" lawsuit against McDonald's for that "Random Red Couch" commercial, but it's still pretty stupid.

One is not supposed to state the obligatory, "Good game" or, "Good job" when one goes through the handshake line, but to first be a weenie about whipping out your best dick line, and then to whine about getting called out for being an asshat...That's just all sorts of thoroughly dumb. Which is a fine assessment of Lucic's game to begin with.

I played sports as a kid and played soccer, where the handshake line was mandatory after every game, and you got a whole lot of spit with "loogies" in it and mashed-up orange gunk while shaking hands and saying, "Good game." I was never particularly good at sports of any kind, but I was an am very competitive, so I'd end up apologizing for knocking somebody on their butt, telling someone that they did a good job annoying me, and at least trying to be honest.

Lucic could've said, "Good game, asshole, now go get 'em in the next series"--or he could've said nothing--but instead, he went with the a stupid hockey cliche, and the worst part of the entire exchange is how angry he got about being called out for being a dumbass.

From SomeHockeyVideos, here's Lucic having a hissy fit--as well as TSN's Aaron Ward calling him out:
