Poor special teams, some out-of-sync play and missed chances pushed the Devils' losing streak to six games in a 5-3 loss to the Flyers on Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark.
After the Devils failed to get back in the win column in their first game out of their bye week, here are six observations for the loss, including special team struggles, the urgency to end the losing streak and more....
The Devils have now dropped a season-high six games, going 0-3-3 over that stretch. Just a handful of points separate the top and bottom of the Metropolitan Division, and the Devils know any game against a divisional opponent is a big opportunity.

That’s not going to do anything good, but you really have to make sure you get your game back a quickly as possible, and that’s what the best teams do. They get out of these funks quickly and get back to their game."
