Los Angeles Kings Look To Start New Postseason Streak; Look Into Next Season's Schedule

08/26/2015 at 7:28am EDT

By Joe Sudberg,

It was an unusually disappointing 2014-15 season for the Los Angeles Kings. After winning the Stanley Cup two seasons ago, the Kings didn’t reach the playoffs for the first time since the 2008-09 season, and became the first team since the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006-07 to miss the playoffs after capturing the crown. Fortunately, the new season is rapidly approaching, and with that, the Kings will soon have their chance at redemption.

The club made a huge splash during the offseason in adding Milan Lucic, but also let some familiar names move on to right the ship. Jarret Stoll is now a member of the New York Rangers, Mike Richards may not see the ice again after recent legal troubles, and Justin Williams has moved on to the Washington Capitals.

Looking to get back to their winning ways, the Kings head into the 2015-16 campaign with a new appreciation for the postseason. With the regular season schedule already released, below are the most expensive LA Kings tickets on the secondary market, according to TiqIQ.com.

11/20/2015 | Detroit Red Wings vs. Los Angeles Kings | Joe Louis Arena | Average Price: $811.05 | Get-in Price: $29

3/5/2016 | Los Angeles Kings vs. Anaheim Ducks | Staples Center | Average Price: $227.20 | Get-in Price: $69

11/28/2015 | Los Angeles Kings vs. Chicago Blackhawks | Staples Center | Average Price: $226.67 | Get-in Price: $76

Detroit has the most expensive tickets on the secondary market across the board early, but the prices will come way down, more towards the get-in price of $29. As of now, this game contains the most expensive Kings tickets for the regular season.

Regarding home games at the Staples Center, the most expensive game is against the Anaheim Ducks to add another chapter in this California rivalry. The Ducks endured heartbreak last season when they found themselves up 3-2 in the Western Conference Finals before dropping Game 7 to the Blackhawks.

Speaking of the Blackhawks, the Kings face the defending Stanley Cup Champions around Thanksgiving as one of their most expensive home games to date. For either of these top-tier contests, Hipmunk.com has hotels near the Staples Center for fans traveling in to watch Los Angeles on their home ice. NHL fans around the league can also use Hipmunk for the top flight deals to catch the Kings in any part of the country, not to mention Canada as well.
