Looks Like It Will Be The Chicago Blackhawks vs. The Washington Capitals In The Winter Classic

The Washington Capitals will be hosting the 2015 Winter Classic next season against the Chicago Blackhawks, according to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie.

McKenzie adds that while the venue for the Winter Classic in D.C. hasn't been finalized yet, the leading candidate is believed to be Nationals Park.

Isn’t it about time to include the Minnesota Wild or St. Louis Blues in one of these.

A Minnesota - Chicago or St. Louis - Chicago game could be just as big of a commercial success. It’s not like DC is a hockey Mecca.

I understand that they probably don’t want two smaller market clubs (or 2 Canadian clubs) in what has become their marquee marketing game. But I don’t think you need 2 big market clubs to make it work.
