Former Canadian goaltender Denis Brodeur knows exactly what price he paid to become an Olympic hockey medalist 50 years ago. It was $3,000. That was the amount written on a signing-bonus check he received from the Cleveland Barons after he made that American Hockey League team at the 1955-56 training camp.
