Roster changes are inevitable, but there could be a wholesale reshaping of the team after the Canadiens failed to reach the playoffs for the fifth time in eight seasons.
The Canadiens needed a win Saturday night in Toronto to grab the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference but they fell to the Maple Leafs 6-5 in a game that was a microcosm of a failed season.
