Let Cherry Carry The Flag

Although not really hockey related, leave it to Don Cherry to get the dander up. You may have heard Canada is having a difficult time finding a person to carry the Canadian Flag at the opening ceremonies in Turin... from the Toronto Star,
A combination of circumstances, it seems, is limiting the number of high-profile athletes the Canadian Olympic Committee will be able to choose from in selecting a flag-bearer. Gold-medal winning speed skater Catriona Le May Doan, who carried the flag for Canada at the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City, says Canadians should understand why some athletes don't want the job. "It's a long day, it's a big process," she said during an interview with CBC Newsworld. "That can fatigue them. Hockey commentator Don Cherry doesn't agree. "The thing is, they don't care," he said. "That nonsense about getting prepared — how long does it take? A little walk around. "Come out and say you don't care . . . but don't say `It will upset my performance.' That's ridiculous."
