Legace Has A Lot To Prove

from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
Legace is proud of the performance he had last season, though it ended with a disappointing first-round playoff loss to Edmonton. The 33-year-old netminder says that if he had posted the same numbers for any other club, he'd be a "$5 million dollar goalie" this season. But Legace is not disgruntled. Not only were the Red Wings not interested in him, other than a few other offers to be a backup, neither was the rest of the NHL. It took 39 days from the beginning of free agency on July 1 before Legace signed a one-year, $1.4 million deal with the Blues, where he'll compete with Curtis Sanford for the No. 1 job.
