Leafs Buy Out Colby Armstrong

from TSN,

The Toronto Maple Leafs have parted ways with forward Colby Armstrong.

The team decided to buy out the final year of his contract, worth $3 million. He will be placed on unconditional waivers at noon et today.

The buyout will count for $1 million towards the team’s salary cap over the next two seasons. The move frees up an additional $2 million for the team heading into free agency July 1, giving them $14.8 million in available cap space.

Maybe time for Colby to make a return to the Pens? Would bring glue to the room that has been missing and lets not forget he’s one of Crosby’s best friends. If we could sign him cheap I’d bring him in for the 3rd 4th line and let Asham walk.

Is there anyone these days who isn’t described as “one of Crosby’s best friends”?  smile

Certainly not Brandon Dubinsky, Jimmy Howard or John Tortorella, that’s for sure.

Crosby’s best friends include Jack Johnson, Max Talbot, Zach Parise and Colby Armstrong. I’ve never heard anyone else that I can remember being brought up as a close friend, but I wouldn’t be surprised with the way the media like to make things up that they will include others. However, those 4 I’ve heard him mention before as being his buddies.

Nope.  Don’t want him back.  The guy made big hits and would go invisible for weeks.  How will he play after a concussion?  Let someone else pick him up please.
