from Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal,
In a shallow free-agent pool, he might be the No. 2 name on the board when free agency opens on July 1. Dallas Stars centre Brad Richards tops the list.
Bryzgalov, who turns 31 two days before the entry draft, had 15 shutouts the last two seasons and was a game star selection in almost 50 per cent of the Coyotes games over the last two years.
“He’s lost in the desert, hidden behind stories of ownership,” said Bryzgalov’s agent Ritch Winter.
Is he worth as much as New York Rangers’ Henrik Lundqvist ($7.75 million)? What about Miikka Kiprusoff’s $7 million with the Calgary Flames? Or is more in the Nik Backstrom range of $6 million?...
Agent Ritch Winter is having lunch with Mike Comrie this weekend in Los Angeles to talk about whether the former Edmonton Oiler really wants to quit the game. Comrie missed most of last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins after undergoing hip surgery, but he’s only 30. What’s he going to do if he retires now? It’s not like he can go on tour with wife/singer Hilary Duff. “Mike’s going to wait and see how he feels and what kind of opportunities are there,” said Winter.
