LA Kings Twitter Account Goes In The Wrong Direction

from Chris Foster of the LA Times,

The Kings' official Twitter account received a game misconduct penalty Tuesday … from the Kings' front office.

Kevin Ryder, of KROQ's "Kevin & Bean" morning show, handled the Twitter posts for the Kings' Stanley Cup playoff game against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday. He took over after the first period, with embarrassing results for the team.

At one point Ryder made light of sexual assault when describing a play that happened in front of the San Jose Sharks' net when the Kings' Anze Kopitar was knocked to the ice.

Agree to both. You can easily find much, much worse on Twitter.

Some people need to grow up.  And I don’t mean Ryder.  I have little respect for him or them to be honest, and yet there was no reason for anyone to flip out over what he said.

Everyone’s a victim anymore.

Being offended by a Kevin & Bean tweet is like AFLAC being shocked that Gilbert Godfried told and off-color joke.

What did they think was going to happen?

The real question is why are the Kings handing their official twitter feed over to some hacky radio losers?

Kings PR dept has gone bush league…radio clowns…really?  In all honesty, I’d be mocking the Ducks if it involved them.

Only in LA.  The march towards peoples inability to emotionally handle the thoughts of other people drives on.  Way to affect a guys paycheck and starting a faux offended campaign when really what most people want, 99 out of 100, is the attention and feeling of moral highground.

Hope the high was worth this NON news. (the tweets, not the article about the crybaby’s)
