We are going to have a blog post every day this week to help you find some value plays. Get a practice round in tonight before the contest on Saturday.

Tuesday’s Value Plays

LW – Justin Abdelkader – Detroit Red Wings - $63,371

Anyone who has the privledge to skate on a line with Datsyuk and Zetterberg will be considered a value play in my eyes. In his last 2 games he has 1 goal and 1 assist with a +3 rating and 5 shots on goal. He won’t light up the lamp but he does provide great value at his price point.

C – Valtteri Filppula – Detroit Red Wings - $54,362

Its playoff time and I expect Filppula to show up when it counts. The Wings have been looking for secondary scoring and I think the line of Filppula, Franzen, and Cleary will be the difference in this series. He’s scored 2 goals in his last 4 games and is getting plenty of ice time. The Wings 2nd line is put to the test and it all starts tonight.

RW – Bobby Ryan – Anaheim Ducks - $64,924

The Ducks will need their top line to be firing on all cylinders if they want to beat the more experienced Red Wings. Ryan provides great value at his price point. He’s half the price of Getzlaf and $45,000 less than Perry. With points in his last 2 games he’s a must start if you believe in the Ducks.

RW – Corey Perry – Anaheim Ducks - $109,656

He has a higher price tag than most guys mention in this column, but Perry has picked up his play of late and deserves consideration. Prior to the last 2 games, where he was held off the score sheet, Perry had points in 4 consecutive games. The last few games didn’t mean much for the Ducks. That is no longer the case. Look for Perry to get plenty of opportunities as the Ducks look to hang on to their home ice advantage.

LW – Brandon Saad – Chicago Blackhawks - $82,630

You can’t go wrong with a guy who plays with Toews and Hossa. Saad has points in 4 of his last 6 games and looks comfortable on Chicago’s top line.

C – Michal Handzus – Chicago Blackhawks - $38,209

If there’s only one player you start based on these recommendations it has to be Handzus. He’s slated to play between Sharp and Kane and has been finding the score sheet as of late. He has 4 points in his last 5 games. Sounds pretty good when you consider he’s one of the cheapest players available tonight. Draft him!

LW – Kyle Clifford – Los Angeles Kings – $47,528

He’s been playing with Kopitar and Carter in his last few games and it really shows when you look at Kyle’s stats. He has 2 goals in his last 2 games while taking 6 shots on net. Keep an eye on the impact of Dustin Brown’s return. If Clifford gets bumped he’s not worth the start.
