Kuba to the Island?

From Ken Warren at Senators Extra:
One look at the Ottawa Senators blueline suggests that GM Bryan Murray will have a problem if he wants both Jared Cowen and David Rundblad to make the opening day roster.
Unless, of course, Murray can ship a veteran defenceman to an island — er, the Islanders.
Chris Botta of Point Blank, a blog on the Islanders, suggests that Islanders GM Garth Snow is interested in adding veteran depth on defence. Keep in mind that money is a factor, here — the Islanders are currently $2.3 million below the salary cap floor.
Hello, Filip Kuba?
Murray would likely jump at the opportunity to unload Kuba, who has one year and $3.7 million remaining on his contract.

Sens have very little on the left side (Karlsson, Gonchar, Lee, Carkner all play the right side, as does Rundblad). On the left we have Phillips, Kuba and Cowen. Next on the depth chart are Wiercioch and Borowiezcki, neither of whom are likely ready this year.
If we trade Kuba we’d need another left D man coming back, but then what’s the point? We need to open up room on the right side. Gonchar makes sense (for the Sens) except they’ll need $$$ coming back to climb back to the cap floor (Rundblad is $1.5M, vs. $5.5M for Gonchar).
Both teams are struggling to either get to or stay at the cap floor, so a trade is not likely (unless it is a three-way).
