Krys Barch Agrees To Terms With New Jersey

from Andrew Gross at Fire & Ice,

Krys Barch, 31, a physical 6-foot-1, 222-pound right wing who split last season with the Stars and the Panthers, has agreed to a two-year deal with the Devils today, his California-based agent, Scott Norton, has confirmed.

Do not have his salary cap hit yet. Last season, Barch carried a cap hit of $837,500.

Norton said he talked to “a lot of teams” about Barch, who had two goals, three assists and 114 penalty minutes in 51 games last season, and Barch chose the Devils after getting “down to about five or six teams.”

Only in the NHL can a no-talent hack like Barch command a half-a-million dollar salary.
What a joke.

Good addition. Barch is tough, drops the gloves and can play a little hockey. I much prefer George Parros but if Panthers hadn’t signed hm I would have liked Barch back.  I look forward to Parros beating the stuffing out of him. Good luck to him I like Barch good team guy.

Barch will replace Eric Boulton on NJ. He’ll be fighting it out with Cam Janssen to get in the lineup. I was hoping to see a Janssen-Barch rematch but that won’t happen, unless in a practice. I hope to see more Shawn Thornton-Barch slugfests when the Devils and Bs play.
