The Red Wings are waiting to find out just how long they will be without top-four defenseman Niklas Kronwall, but based on early indications, the news could be bad. Kronwall suffered an injury to his left knee with a handful of seconds left in the first period of Tuesday’s game at Denver after being hit into the boards by Dan Hinote. “Anytime a guy’s face is sheet-white after something happens, with a guy like Nik, something’s wrong,” coach Mike Babcock said Wednesday after the team’s morning skate. “We’re hoping that we get a way better report than we did from the doctor last night at the game today with the MRI. But realistically, he looks like he’s going to be out for a while.”
