Kovalchuk Feels Good About A Playoff Run For The Devils

from Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger,

“It’s obviously better than last year. It all starts with winning,” Kovalchuk said. “You can’t be happy with yourself even if you score as many goals as you want and then miss the playoffs. You try your best every night but when the team is winning and everybody is doing well, it helps a lot.”

The Devils, of course, missed the playoffs in Kovalchuk’s first full season with the team. This postseason is the most important yet to the 28-year-old Russian.

“Definitely. I feel like we have a great team,” Kovalchuk said. “This is a great locker room. The guys want to play for each other. It’s a great coaching staff. I think we really have a good chance. We just have to be on top of our game.”
