King Henrik strikes again

New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped 34 shots in the New York Rangers’ 1-0 shootout win over Buffalo on Wednesday, but the save he made on Brad Boyes during the shootout is the kind of move which underscores his status as the MVP of the team that’s eclipsed the Boston Bruins and taken the Eastern Conference for itself:

Honestly, that NYR-BUF game was not a good game IMO, and BUF in particular is absolutely terrible as evidenced by Miller stopping every single shot in regulation and OT, and still losing because his completely pathetic teammates couldn’t muster a single goal in support of him.

Like I told my wife after the shootout, if I was Ryan after that game I would have demanded an immediate trade to literally anywhere else.  We make fun of Columbus, but the culture of losing and being terrible in BUF is to all-new heights now, even with new ownership.  Miller is absolutely being wasted there still.

As for the Rangers… meh.  I’m still not impressed with them, and think the Bruins are the team to beat in the East.  And that the East is still not very good competition…
