From the NHL comes this news today. Not only does the “Kid” have his own replica Stanley Cup ring, he also has the love of the NHL:
Singer and songwriter Kid Rock is NHL.com’s “Artist of the Month” for November. NHL.com, the official web site of the National Hockey League and the leading online community for hockey fans, will feature a Q&A, photos, articles and give fans the opportunity to stream tracks and videos from the Detroit native’s latest album, Rock N Roll Jesus, which recently debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
In addition, NHL.com fans will be able to post comments and interact with the three-time Grammy nominee here.
Kid Rock is a longtime hockey fan. He roots for his hometown Red Wings and the Carolina Hurricanes. He celebrated with the Hurricanes after Game 7 of the 2006 Stanley Cup Final and hosted Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios, his teammates and the Stanley Cup at his Michigan home after their 2002 Championship win.
During the Red Wings’ road trip to Chicago to take on the Blackhawks this weekend, members of the team will meet with Kid Rock before his concert at the Aragon Ballroom on Saturday, Nov. 10. NHL Productions will be on hand to film the meet and greet for an upcoming episode of “INSIDE THE NHL,” a weekly show airing on HDNet.
Each month, NHL.com showcases music artists who are also hockey fans as part of its “Artist of the Month” content initiative.
