Kane Plays Big

from the Chicago Sun-Times,
So what if Patrick Kane, an 18-year-old right wing whom many expect the Blackhawks to select with the No. 1 overall draft pick, is relatively short at 5-10?
‘‘How big is the puck?’’ general manager Dale Tallon asked Wednesday. ‘‘The size of his heart is more important than the size of his body. Obviously, we’d prefer that he’d be 6-2 and weigh 210. He’s not. But he plays big.’‘...
‘‘We need goal-scorers,’’ he said. ‘‘That’s why we’re looking at the top three forwards.’‘
This will be the first time the Hawks will pick No. 1. The highest they have picked is third, which they’ve done four times, including 1980, when they selected head coach Denis Savard.
