“Junior” Jacobs Wants To Be More Involved

(Craig) Patrick is likely to become a GM candidate in Boston, but we're told the likelihood is growing that the job will be given to interim GM Jeff Gorton, the former assistant GM who ascended to the position upon Mike O'Connell's late-season dismissal. We're hearing that executive VP Charlie Jacobs, the son of owner Jeremy Jacobs, is interested in assuming more responsibility within the organization, and that includes the hockey department. An accomplished GM, therefore, might not make for the best mix.
