Jonathan Quick Expected To Miss Around Three Months

Lisa Dillman tweeted earlier today stating Quick had a procedure done, not surgery.  The injory is reported to be a groin issue.

Goalie situation in LA right now is Zatkoff and Budaj.

Jimmy for a 3rd round pick and Budaj.

Man, that is bad news for the Kings.  The goaltending since he went down has not been good.  And, they don’t have the cap space to do a whole hell of a lot right now.  I’ve heard that they’ve been kicking tires on Pavelec, but there’s no way to bring him in without sending contracts back the other way.

Aye.  I forgot they were cap strapped.

Zatkoff had a fairly craptacular camp. Budaj was lights out last year in the AHL (1.75), with a heavy workload. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

But its not like Budaj is new to the league.  He hasnt amounted to much anywhere hes played in the NHL.  It would be a little crazy for LA to expect anything different from him at this point.

Not that they have any other options right now.

His career has been ok. Mediocre teams in Col and Mtrl, not sure that I’d fault him for not being a superstar.

And since I’m fairly blase about our prospects this season to begin with, I’m ok with Budaj et al and seeing how it plays out. Historically, our D tightens up whenever Quick is injured. Scrivens had a couple of career months a few yrs back.
