Jiri Fischer To Retire Per Sportsnet

via Sportsnet,
It's believed that at the 4 pm press conference called today by the Detroit Red Wings, defenceman Jiri Fischer will announce his retirement from hockey. Fischer, who suffered a seizure during a game in November hasn't played hockey since.
update 4:33pm, Sportsnet jumped the gun on this story. Although the hockey future for Fischer is in doubt, he did not announce he was leaving the game. A story like this should never be a hit or a miss, Sportsnet blew this one.
