from Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News,
Jiri Hudler is as confused as anyone.
The veteran forward has been disabled by a mystery virus this season, and has seen his own doctors in addition to Stars team doctors. But while nobody really knows what he has been battling, they do believe he is on the road to recovery.
"It's been a long time and frustrating, but it is coming along. I hope I am going to be playing as soon as possible," Hudler said. "I just felt really bad for the past five or six weeks or whatever it was. I've never been in this situation before, and I never want to be again, that's for sure."
Hudler, 32, has played just four games this season and has spent the rest of the time just trying to diagnose the problem. Stars coach Lindy Ruff said the team believes Hudler's problems are similar to those suffered by Travis Morin in training camp.
"Just a virus, some type of virus, which really can't be answered," Ruff said. "I guess there's hundreds of them out there."
