from Paul Friesen of the Winnipeg Sun,
The Winnipeg Jets are officially on a skid, kicking off a six-game homestand with another brutal first period and getting a well-deserved, 4-1 spanking at the hands of the Dallas Stars as a result.
That’s three straight losses after a pair of season-opening wins, and while that may be a good poker hand, it’s a loser’s deal in sports.///
(Evander) Kane’s theory on what’s troubling the Jets since opening the season with two wins: too much thinking.
“We’re focusing maybe a little bit too much on what everybody’s saying, and what the X’s and O’s are,” he said. “We just need to go out and play hockey. We’re hesitant... caught flat-footed. And you’re not doing anything when you’re in between.
“It’s better to make a mistake trying to do something than be tentative. We just need to relax a little bit, but at the same time, if that makes sense, be a lot more intense.”
