Jeff Carter Only Worried About On-Ice Play

Don’t show me the money. At least not yet. That’s the vibe Jeff Carter gives off when questioned about the possibility of beginning contract talks now, rather than wait for his three-year deal to expire in June….

He’s a restricted free agent, so there’s really no urgency to begin negotiations. Like Mike Richards and R.J. Umberger, whose contracts also run out in June, there’s no need for Carter to think about money now.

“There’s nothing I can do about it, just go out and play,” Carter said at Friday morning’s skate. “It doesn’t really matter to me.”
