Will Jason Spezza still be a member of the Ottawa Senators on August 1st?
Will Bryan Murray still be talking to the media, bemoaning the fact Spezza won't waive his no-trade clause, the one Murray signed him to, come August 1st?
If I could place a wager on Spezza staying or going, I would say he will be with the Senators in another month.
Teams know Murray has his back to the wall and offers for Spezza may continue to be less than what Murray wants in return.
Will both Spezza and Murray come to some sort of compromise soon.
It is possible. Spezza may see his chances of getting traded are greatly reduced unless he expands the teams he will agree to be traded to.
Murray on the other hand should not discuss this topic in public again, it only makes the situation worse, creates additional panic from all sides and looks bad in the public eye.
I get what Murray is trying to do but allowing this whole scenario play out in the public is not the best route to take, especially since the Senators have had issues like this before with Daniel Alfredsson and Dany Heatley.
Bryan Murray has to realize he is not going to be the winner of this trade and needs to move forward instead of complaining in public about how his hands are tied with this problem.
