DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed forward Jamie McGinn to a two-year contract through the 2013-14 season.
McGinn, 23, was acquired from San Jose at the trade deadline on Feb. 27, and went on to record 13 points (8g/5a) in 17 games with the Avalanche. McGinn’s 13 points tied Paul Stastny for the most on the team from March 1 until the end of the season. Combined between the Sharks and Avalanche, the left winger set career highs in games (78), goals (20), assists (17), points (37), power-play goals (6) and shots (159).
“Jamie made an immediate impact from the time he joined our organization,” said Avalanche General Manager/Executive Vice President Greg Sherman. “We look forward to Jamie building upon last season’s performance and are pleased to have agreed to contract terms.”
