Glad you said it and not me.

Avery has bad breath and should brush his teeth?

Is that any less of a “remark” than the sloppy seconds comment?
I think Wishdoucheski should have to go through some homophobic councelling. ![]()

Gary’s gonna have to explain that one to his daughter too…

If this were against anyone than Sean Avery, then I’d care. Hahaha. Avery deserves everything negative that comes his way.

Why suspend him…it is not like he skipped the all star game due to injuries.

This league does a good job of making itself look foolish, thereby relinquishing the high ground to smack players for a lack of class.

awesome, and if anyone think that there is something wrong with that gesture they should lock themselves in a closet and stay there forever

It’s about the gesture. If Nick Boynton got one game for making a throat-slashing gesture, surely Wis should get one game. After all, it’s intent that matters, right?
Right?

Apparently you don’t.

... but objectively, throat slashing is such a mean, violent, and evil thing to do where as blowjobs (is that a bad word?? i honestly don’t know.) are usually a very nice thing to do to someone. Besides some in prisons, rectories, and trailer parks, most bj’s in the world are done out of kindness or for money…. and both are generally pleasant experiences… so my point is, you can’t suspend him for making an “i want to provide you pleasure” gesture. i mean, maybe he thought Avery was just a bit uptight and was trying to help him out.

I’m pretty sure that by insinuating Avery was involved in the act, Wisniewski made this gesture very offensive to gay people.

There’s no telling some of the egregious things that punk Avery has said to scores of players in his anointed role as agitator. I’m sure the boy can take it…

He was just lip syncing a song. That was a pretend mic he was holding. Read a recent column that said no one has seen sportsmanship in 30 years so no one knows what it is. 5 year olds trash talk each other now.

The problem is that he didn’t cup the balls. Why does everyone ignore the balls??
Posted by Garth on 10/11/10 at 11:31 PM ET
Wizz looked like he had been there and done that before!
Posted by timbits on 10/12/10 at 12:05 AM ET
Seriously, is his nickname Wizz? Wonder if it was an R Kelly reference that set him off?

are you talking about the intent to blow the whistle?
And to think this happened on National Coming Out Day. Good for Wiz. That was brave.

Why is anyone reading this gesture as homophobic since this doesn’t have to be a gender specific activity for at least one side of it? What two consenting adults choose to do in front of 11,000 people or behind the desk of the Oval office is a private matter.
However, I can see Wiz getting a game after Boynton got a game (although one is a far more threatening gesture). Bettman after slamming Avery for 6 games (albeit after multiple do not be stupid warnings) will feel compelled not to have a double standard. Wiz afterall isn’t the brightest bulb after his comments last year that he didn’t intend to board the Hawk player after travelling 30 feet.
One game is the standard for hand gestures, just like attempts to injure.
