Islanders & Rangers Square Off in Cheapest Barclays Center Meeting Yet

02/15/2017 at 7:09am EST

By Tim Dolan,

Being a part of the playoff push in Brooklyn won’t be taxing on the wallet this Thursday. The Islanders set to take on the crosstown Rangers in the second and final meeting in Brooklyn this season, and it will be the cheapest matchup at the Barclays Center yet.

On TicketIQ, a search engine that tracks ticket data from over 90 percent of the resale market, the average resale price for Islanders vs. Rangers tickets is now $174. That is slightly cheaper than the December 6 game between the two teams, which owned a resale average of $177. The cheapest available tickets for Thursday’s game are now $67 each.

The Islanders are looking to move into a wild-card slot following Tuesday night’s game with the Maple Leafs. They could claim sole possession of the second spot with a regulation win in Toronto. The Rangers have been hot on their own accord, going 8-2-0 over their last 10 games and bringing a six-game win streak across the East River with them on Thursday.
