Kukla's Korner Hockey

from Chuck Gormley of CSN Washington,
Surrounded by cameras and microphones in a crowded visiting locker room, Ovechkin was asked if he believes tonight’s Game 7 is a stage for him to exhibit his greatness.
“Of course, you want to play hard and play well,” he said. “But the most important thing is to win. It can be the last game for both teams and I hope it’s going to be good luck for us and we can clinch and continue in the playoffs.”
OK, so Ovechkin wasn’t Mr. Definitive with that answer. And, truth be told, he has not been Mr. Dominant through the first six games of this wildly competitive series.
Through six games, Ovechkin leads the Capitals with five playoff points (two goals, three assists), 28 shots and 28 hits and is even on the plus-minus ledger while averaging 20:12 of ice time. By comparison, Sidney Crosby had three goals, five assists and was a minus-3 while averaging 20:36 in the Penguins’ six-game elimination by the Flyers.
