IS Tim Thomas Part Of The Bruins’ Team?

from Joe Haggerty of CSNNE,

Tim Thomas noticeably used the pronoun “they”—not “we”—when discussing his Bruins teammates at multiple points after Boston’s Game 7 loss to the Washington Capitals.

The 38-year-old goaltender, who is clearly intent on being viewed as an individual first and foremost, was good but not spectacular in his team’s 2-1 loss to the Capitals. A tipped puck beat him for the first goal, then Mike Knuble barreled over him in overtime before Joel Ward scored the dagger.

Thomas now enters an offseason filled with the unknown.

He’s entering the final year of his contract, and his no-trade clause expires this offseason. Plus, the Bruins will likely have 25-year-old Tuukka Rask (a restricted free agent) waiting in the wings.

Thomas showed some signs last night that he may be anticipating a trade.

I think Thomas already showed the world that he wants to be considered an individual before a teammate when he chose not to attend the White House ceremony with the Bruins.  Fuch him, I’m glad he lost.

Um…...yeeeeeaaaah. That didn’t happen, but ok. You lost, get over it.

if it is true he actually walked on the bruins logo after the game, that’s pretty lame. if he was really referring to his teammates as “they” in an effort to distinguish himself from them as a team, that’s really lame.

obviously the hockey world (and then some) got an earful about thomas w/ the white house thing, but this isn’t the first time i’ve read things about him like this. it definitely supports the rumor that the way he handled the WH thing caused some problems in their locker room.

if you get along with, like and are liked by your teammates, you don’t go out of your way to distance yourself from them immediately after being ousted from the playoffs.

all politics aside, Thomas sounds like a bit of a prick. he’s a damn good goalie though.

No coincidence that his self centered politics reflects his self centered view of the Bruins.

He’s an American citizen with a right to do what he wants when it comes to politics. He’s gave his all to the Bruins, and I’m sorry but if you’re blaming him for this series you’re nuts.

Of course he does, and I have every right to criticize him. It is called free speech.

That you do. I never stated you didn’t. Of course, your opinion of him is wrong.  smile
